Eye Shadow Eye shadow is used to create depth to show the beauty of the eyes. A dark color used on the eyelid will make the eye look smaller, while a lighter color will make it look larger. These are the main roles of eye shadows.
Small eyes: You shouldn’t use too much shadow or liner because it will make your eyes look smaller. Wear a light color on eyelid, use a darker color in the crease and use a highlighter under the brow.
Large eyes: Apply darker shadow on the lid and spread it to the crease. Use a flat color under the brow for highlighting.
Deep-set eyes: Apply light colors on the lid and under the brow. Wear a medium color in the crease. Accentuate the outer corners with shadow.
Hooded eyes: Use light colors on the eyelid. Apply darker colors from the center of the eyelid to the outer corners and blend.
Wide-set eyes: Apply darker colors on the inner corners of the eye.
Round eyes: You can make your eyes longer by using color all around and extending toward the outer corners.
Asian eyes: Use highlighter under the brow. Apply light shadow on the inner half of the lid and a darker color on the outer half.
Remember: 1. Light colors make the eyes to look open, and dark colors will make them appear receded. 2. Be careful with using of shimmer. 3. If you have very light skin you should avoid dark shades. 4. The eye area is the first to show age don’t tug on the skin.
