Eyeliner

mascaraThe main role of the eyeliners is to define the eyes. That’s why they should do just that, not be the focal point of your makeup. There are many different colors and forms of eyeliners such as liquid, pencil and other. Try to keep the eyeliner natural. There are also many colors of pencils; for the best look stick to black or brown. Pencil can be sharpened for a fine line. If you want to get a smudged effect use a sponge tip shadow applicator or an eye shadow brush. If your pencils are too soft put them into the refrigerator for a while. If they are too hard you can soften them by holding them between your fingers.

In order to line the eye, begin with the lower lid, just beneath the lashes. After you are finished you should smudge the line with your sponge. Try to stay as close to the lash line as possible. On the upper lid, draw a line from the inner corner to the outer corner, thickening the line toward the outer corner. After the age of 40 keep the line in between the lashes.

Mascara

Mascara frames your eyes. Besides, it can make your face come alive. Mascara gently intensifies the eye by thickening and darkening the lashes. There are several different types you can choose from, for example such as thickening mascara, waterproof mascara and smudge proof mascara. Waterproof mascara requires a special remover and smudge proof washes off easily. You should know that it’s not a good idea to wear waterproof mascara for long periods of time since it has a tendency to dry the lashes.

Choose a shade of mascara that will complement your coloring. You can use dark shades on pale eyes with brown lashes; this will darken them and will look harsh. You should stay away from blues and other colors because they will ruin your look.

If you have lashes that are hard to curl you may need the help of an eyelash curler. You should curl your lashes before you apply mascara; just hold for ten to twenty seconds.

While applying mascara look straight into your mirror with your chin slightly lifted so you can see your lashes. Insert the wand only once and twist, but don’t pump. Be4cause pumping can break the brush bristles and distribute the mascara unevenly and will dry out the mascara faster. Begin with rolling the wand from root to tip in an upward movement. Reinsert the brush and apply again. If your eyelashes are thick and long they may stick together. If this happens allow them to dry and then separate them with the corner of an eyebrow brush.
