The skin is the largest organ of the body in both men & women. However there are some differences:

• The structure of the skin is basically the same however men tend to have a thicker epidermis (top layer)
• Men require more water intake than women to maintain hydration
• Men’s facial skin includes hair follicles that absorb more UV rays, adding to the importance of sunblock
• This thicker facial hair produces more sebum (an oily substance that contains waxes and lipids). These glands are more concentrated in the scalp, face and forehead and the cells tend to build up and become sticky causing blockages which are called microcomedone (blackheads).
• Men are also prone to ingrown hairs on the face leaving nasty bumps or spots
• A good skincare routine will help keep skin clean and healthy.
