Skin Care in Sequence

skin_care_orderWhich comes first, the toner or the moisturizer? And when do I apply my eye crème? The right succession is important because each step methodically prepares your skin for what comes next.  If you follow the recommended sequence, every formula in your twice-daily regiment will perform optimally, providing you with the healthy, radiant complexion you deserve.

Daily, Morning and Night:

1.  Cleanse your face and neck, twice, with your cleanser.

Double cleansing insures that you whisk away every trace of dirt and makeup, leaving your skin fresh and free of debris.

2.  Tone your face and neck with a cotton pad that has been soaked with your selected toning formula.

This step removes all remaining traces of cleanser. It also restores your skin to a normal and balanced pH level, making it receptive to the next important step.

3.  Treat your skin with the products selected for your particular needs. Objectives are fine lines, discoloration, and loss of elasticity, blemishes or uneven skin tone in this all-important step.

Light-as-a-feather cosmetic products are best absorbed by clean, balanced skin. Apply them carefully to face and neck; they won't feel heavy or oily.

4.  Delicate the eyes. Using the tip of your ring finger, dab eye crème under each eye and around the outer corners.

The delicate skin in this area requires a richer moisturizing formula than the rest of the face, and a very gentle touch.

5. Moisturize and protect your skin with a moisturizer containing sun protection to halt moisture loss and damage from dry external conditions and UV rays.

Most of moisturizers are designed to provide just the right amount of hydration whether your skin is dry or oily. Lots of them contain specially-formulated complexes which enhance the effects of cosmetic products and have all been tested on sensitive skin. Nevertheless, if sensitivities still exist, a formula without SPF is offered.
